Cambodia

- People are called Khmers.
- Was under France's rule during 1863 and became part of French Indochina in 1887.
- Gained their independence from France in 1953.
- April 1965 Communist Khmer Rouge happened under Pol Pot.
         - At least 1.5 million people died.
- A 13 year civil war with Vietnam happened within the communist Khmer Rouge.
- October 2004, King Norodom SIHANOUK abdicated the throne and his son, Prince Norodom SIHAMONI, was selected to succeed him.

- Export partners: US, Canada, Germany, UK, Vietnam, Japan.
- Debt: 5.071 Billion

- Royal Cambodian Armed Forces: Royal Cambodian Army, Royal Khmer Navy, Royal Cambodian Air Force

- Obligation: All male between 18-30 to register for military service (mandatory) for 18 month service.
