Cambodia ranks at 99 out of 145 countries on the Gender Inequality Index (GII). Gender equality in Cambodia has been improving for the past decades. The rates are not decreasing dramatically but over the period of time, things are getting better. When it comes to educations, there are an even amount go boys and girls who goes to school. The number of men and women in the workforce is almost the same too.
Cambodia also have a project called "Partnership for Gender Equity". The purpose of the project is to develop a strong relationship with the Ministry of Women affairs about overcoming hardships between men and women across Cambodia. For example, this project helps women to improve their knowledge about business development and advocating change in traditional perceptions of women's status.
